Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Cardline Systems LLC (“Cardline,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of Linx. By creating an account or using Linx, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Linx.

Linx is an independent service for eligible Florida Tech students. Cardline Systems LLC is not Florida Institute of Technology, and Linx is not sponsored, endorsed, or operated by the university.

2. Eligibility and account verification

• You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement.
• You must have access to a valid @my.fit.edu email address and complete email verification.
• You may create only an account for yourself and must provide accurate, current information.
• You are responsible for your password, account activity, and promptly telling us if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Your profile and content

You retain ownership of photos, messages, profile details, and other content you submit. You give Cardline a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve Linx.

You represent that you have the right to share your content and that it does not violate another person’s rights. Other users may see, save, or share content you make visible to them, so do not post anything you want to remain private.

4. Acceptable use

You must treat other people with respect and use Linx only for lawful, personal purposes. You may not:

• Harass, threaten, stalk, exploit, impersonate, or discriminate against another person.
• Post nudity involving minors, non-consensual sexual content, illegal content, scams, malware, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
• Solicit money, run commercial promotions, scrape profiles, use bots, or collect information about users without permission.
• Evade a block or suspension, create deceptive accounts, interfere with Linx, or attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization.
• Use anonymous chat to reveal another user’s identity, pressure them to identify themselves, or defeat Linx safety controls.

5. Matching, messaging, and safety

Linx may suggest people based on preferences and account information, but we do not guarantee matches, compatibility, identity beyond email verification, or any user’s conduct. Email verification does not constitute a background check.

Use judgment when communicating or meeting. Keep early conversations in the app, meet in public, tell someone where you are going, arrange your own transportation, and contact emergency services if you face immediate danger. You are responsible for your interactions with other users.

6. Blocking, reports, and moderation

You may block users and report matched or anonymous chats. A report can include the full relevant chat transcript and account identifiers so our moderation team can investigate. We may review content, preserve evidence, warn users, limit features, suspend accounts, or report conduct to authorities when we reasonably believe it is necessary. We are not required to monitor every interaction or take a particular action on every report.

7. Service changes and termination

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. You may stop using Linx at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms were violated, safety is at risk, the law requires it, or continued service is impractical. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms.

8. Intellectual property

Linx, including its software, branding, design, and non-user content, is owned by Cardline Systems LLC or its licensors and is protected by law. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use Linx for its intended personal purpose; they do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

9. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LINX IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” CARDLINE DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, ACCURACY, AND THAT USERS WILL BE SAFE OR COMPATIBLE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these terms may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CARDLINE SYSTEMS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM LINX OR USER INTERACTIONS. CARDLINE’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

11. Disputes and governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not required by applicable law to be heard elsewhere will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you cannot waive under applicable law.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as Linx or the law changes. We will post the revised Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice when a change is material. Continuing to use Linx after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
